Art in the gardens
flowersforlaura.com added the finishing floral touches once again to a second Floral ImPACT Fashion Show as part of Sheffield City Council's annual event, Art in the Gardens set in the beautiful floral surroundings of Sheffield's Botanical Gardens. Following the success of the Floral ImPACT Fashion Show at Sheffield's Walnut Club on Ecclesall Road at the end of July, visitors and exhibitors at Art in the Gardens were treated to the delights of Miss Sheffield, Jaime-Lee Faulkner, and eight other models showing Elizabeth A Edwards' stunning floral eco-couture under the brand name of Hope & Glory on the catwalk amidst the flora and fauna of the Botanical Gardens. The models, clothes and floral designs were greeted by much applause from the watching audiences as they delivered four shows during the weekend of 6th and 7th September. Held in aid of the local childrens' cancer charity, PACT, (Parents' Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia) based at Sheffield Childrens' Hospital, a fantastic £1,000 was raised from the raffle. PACT is one of three local charities selected by Sheffield City Council this year to benefit by receiving one third of the profits from the Art in the Gardens event.
The floral designs for the Fashion Show ranged from decorative buttonholes, floral jewellery in the shape of chokers and necklaces, over-the-arm and hand tied bouquets with the finale showing an exquisite vintage wedding dress complete with full bridal bouquet in Sweet Avalanche Roses, Sedum, Waxflower and Lydia Spray Roses. Jaime-Lee Faulkner, modelling the wedding dress, was accompanied at each of the four shows by a flower girl carrying a hand tied mixed posy of Calla Lilies, Spray Roses and Waxflower.
